Sheer curtains

Sheer curtains serve as a barrier between the interior and exterior—they filter light without blocking it, preserving privacy without casting shadows. Their lightness is their defining feature, and it is this quality that guides all subsequent choices: the fabric, the construction, and the hardware.

The fabrics used—gauze, linen or wool voile, technical polyester—behave very differently when exposed to light. Some diffuse soft, even light, while others create transparency effects depending on the angle. Technical sheers incorporate additional features: acoustic sheers, UV protection to preserve furniture and upholstery, thermal insulation, and a sunscreen effect that reduces heat gain without obstructing the view outside.
